Since the spring of 96 to June 2007, Openwide Theatre has staged a total of over 2000 performances at theatres, arts centres, schools, special needs units, libraries, community centres, festivals, parks and playschemes, National Trust estates, urban farms, fun days, adventure playgrounds, museums and private parties. Performances are also adapted for audiences with special needs:- the hard of hearing and deaf children; blind and partially sighted children, children with profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), emotionally and behaviourally disturbed children (EBD). Openwide Theatre has toured in 28 counties and 30 London Boroughs throughout the UK (and Jersey). |

Nicole Young - Producer/Actor
graduated from De Montfort University with a degree in Drama and Dance and went
on to work for BBC Radio Drama and Radio 2. On leaving the BBC Nicole toured
with several small scale theatre companies prior to setting up Openwide
Theatre in partnership with Gillian Lubrinitsky in 1995.

Gillian Lubrinitsky - Producer/Actor
worked as a freelance production assistant for film and TV throughout the '80s
before joining the English Shakespeare Company as a Theatre Administrator for
the Education Dept.
Colin Fancy - Writer of books and plays for children, has adapted his scripts for school productions. He runs drama workshops for young people with learning difficulties and has taught at Lewisham college, AEI's in Greenwich and Lewisham, and Greenwich Young Peoples Theatre (GYPT). Colin wrote A Wheelie Bin Ate My Sister! which has toured throughout the UK including 2 successful runs at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Openwide Theatre is now touring Colins recent adaptations, Yuck! It's a Duck! - a physical theatre version of 'The Ugly Duckling', and working with him on our latest production - Treasure Island - which he has adapted from the book by Robert Louis Stevenson. Colin's book, 'Crocodiles Don't Brush Their Teeth' was published by Scholastic Books during the Spring of 2005.
Nigel Ward - Writer was the Manager of 'The Bird's Nest' Theatre in Deptford for 4 years, producing 20 plays and writing 5 Musicals, all of which have been produced. Nigel adapted The Big Catch and The Town Mouse and The Country Mouse for Openwide Theatre, and currently works as a Producer's Co-ordinator for a group of West End theatres.
Stanislaw Smagala - Director trained at the Laban Centre of Movement and Dance, followed by a diploma In Dramatic Art at Middx University. He started his career as an actor and played the lead role in Trestle Theatres' international tour of 'L'Ampifernasso' a mask comedy operetta. He continues to specialize in Commedia dell'Arte and mask work and has taught at E15 acting school, The City Lit, and from Sept 2001 at Greenwich Young Peoples Theatre. Stash directed The Town Mouse and The Country Mouse, Rumplysilkskin, The Girl Who Spoke Only Poetry, Yuck! It's a Duck!, and directed our newest production, Treasure Island.
Tracy Mills-Maisner - Director graduated from Loughborough University with an English/Drama degree and worked in Theatre in Education and Rep before joining the BBC. Progressing from Sound Engineer to Studio Manager she moved on to directing Radio (4 & 5) Drama, mainly for children. Tracy is now a freelance Director/Writer and has directed The Big Catch for Openwide Theatre, and re-directed The Big Catch as a 'Radio' Play, to be available on CD. Tracy has also worked with the company as our Administrator in 2003 to 2004.
Andi Clark - Musical Director is a Composer, Arranger and Producer and is a multi instrumentalist. He has worked in the music industry with; The Jazz Crusaders, The Gap Band, Desmond Dekker, David Bowie and Jeff Beck to name a few. He composed the soundtrack for Central TV's 'No Excuses' by Barry Keefe and many other film scores. Andi has worked on all seven Openwide productions, and plays all the music.
Rebecca Glover -
Designer
graduated from Rose Brueford College with a degree in Scenic Arts and
works as a freelance Scenic Artist, Props maker and Costume Designer; The Lyceum
Theatre - props for 'The Lion King', The Palladium - scenic painting for 'The
King and I', The Polka Theatre - 'Winnie The Pooh' and many more. Visit

Barry Still - Media
Technician was trained at Ravensbourne College TV Studios, and has
been involved with theatre and music venue lighting, sound engineering, photography,
stage management, and acting - from an early age. He has City & Guilds in
Telecomms, C programming, and completed a BTEC HND in Business Information Systems.
Barry modified and maintains the current web site and is designing and building
a new version. He also created their bookings database, and provides IT support
as well as general technical advice.

Sarah McIntyre - Illustrator
left college in the US and worked in Russia on the Moscow Times. She also
taught art at the Hinkson Academy in Moscow. She now lives in London and has
currently illustrated her 2nd children's book for Vista Press. Sarah
designed the artwork and layout for The Pied
Piper, Rumplysilkskin, The
Girl Who Spoke Only Poetry, Yuck! It's a
Duck! and Treasure
Island publicity leaflets/posters; as well as the
Openwide logo and the web
site artwork.

Pauline Stewart - Writer Her
books include a collection of poems
Singing Down The Breadfruit , a picture book Sunshine Showers
and Four Oclock Flowers and Whats in the Pan Man?. She
has judged poetry for the Roald Dahl Foundation, been a key poetry workshop
leader at the English Speaking Union and is one of the Poetry Society's
Poetry Class
training team. Pauline leads workshops, school assemblies and poetry performances,
and her adaptation of The Pied Piper
and the play The Girl Who Spoke Only Poetry
are both currently touring with Openwide Theatre.
